Ron Bourgeois 78 of Middleton, MA. Passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 31. He was born in a small village outside Moncton, New Brunswick Canada. He was raised and worked on his family farm until the age of 21 when he moved to the United States and taught himself the English language. He loved Canada but he loved the life and family he created here more and eventually became a United States citizen. Ron and his loving wife Rita married in August of 1961 in Lynn,Ma. They lived there until moving to Swampscott to start their family and later moved to Middleton to raise their children. Ron was an extremely hard working and honest man who believed “anything worth doing is worth doing right!” If you did business with him you knew this was true. He was self-employed as a machinist for over 35 years until he finally retired from Burgess machine at the age of 77 due to his failing health. Ron was a true sports fan. He would gladly talk about any sport to whom ever stopped by. But the Bruins were always his favorite. He was at one time a season ticket holder and always told stories of waiting outside the locker room to talk about the game with the players as they emerged. Ron was also a kind and generous helped anyone who asked and He donated everything he could to the charities and causes he believed in. Most important to him were animal and children’s causes and our nations veterans. Ron is survived by his loving wife Rita of 56 years, his daughter Lisa Bourgeois and her partner James Willis, his son Peter Bourgeois, his sisters Bernice Borque and Geraldine Leger both of New Brunswick Canada his brother Edward Bourgeois of East Haven Connecticut, his sister Francine Lewandowski of Ambridge Pennsylvania, multiple nieces and nephews and his two favorite cats Peaches and Rose. He was predeceased by his parents Earnest and Teresa Bourgeois and his infant son Kenny Bourgeois.
