Ronald L. Hardy passed away on January 18, 2018 in Centennial, CO. at the age of 64. Born on September 17, 1953 in Portsmouth,VA, the son of Elton and Elnora Vinson. He attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana from 1971-1975 for his undergrad in Humanities, majoring in History. While attending Purdue, he played varsity football all four years and during that time he met his future wife Debbie. They were married in Lafayette, Indiana in August of 1974. Ron later served in the US Army from 1976 to 1979 achieving the rank of Sargent. After honorable discharge from the military, he returned to Purdue to complete his graduate studies in history with a minor in business. Following the completion of his Master’s degree, he started a career with State Farm Insurance in Houston, TX and finished his career retiring in May of 2017 in Denver, CO. Ron took an active interest in coaching basketball for the duration of both his kids high school careers and beyond. He enjoyed playing classical guitar, attending cooking classes and cooking and photography. Ronald is survived by his wife Debbie Hardy; daughter Jennifer Hardy and son Ryan Hardy (Kristin Fawns); granddaughter McKenna; parents Elton and Elnora Vinson of Portsmouth, VA; sister Glenda Branch (Barney Branch); niece Deanna Shoulders; great-nephew Kenly Shoulders; half-sister Mortina Bright in Henrico County, VA.
