Ronald George Giesler, the son of George L. and Elizabeth (Becker) Giesler, was born November 9, 1916 in Finchford, Bremer County, Iowa. He attended Janesville, Finchford and Bremer County Schools and graduated from Janesville High School with the class of 1934. He started working at he age of 14. His first job was tossing clay pigeons at the gun club near home. Ronald was employed as a farmer, truck driver, and a business owner through out his life. On October 12, 1940, he married Gladys June Teague in Oelwein, Iowa. They were married 29 years and moved to Lake Park in 1968. Gladys died in 1969, and on December 22, 1969 , Ronald married Evelyn Anderson in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in the Spirit Lake area. Evelyn died in 2002.Ronald was a proud member of the United Methodist Church of Lake Park, Iowa. He loved to play cards and socialize at the area Senior Citizens Dinner Dates. Driving had always been a big part of his life and he liked to ride around the area seeing the changes and visiting his many friends. Ronald died at the Lake Park Care Center on Tuesday, May 28, 2007. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jolean Faaborg of Tyler, MN.
