NEW HARTFORD – Ronald “Ron” F. Roy, 81, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen S. Roy for 57 years. Born September 20, 1939 in Bristol; the son of the late Forester and Ann (Sabo) Roy. Ron grew up under the care of his aunts, the late Antoinette Roy and Lillian Roy and then spent his entire life in New Hartford in the house he and Eileen built. He served in the Navy Reserves as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker and got an Honorable Discharge in 1963. Ron and Eileen met young and married in 1963. His passion was building model airplanes, swimming, boating, fishing and later spending time with his grandchildren and vacationing in Cape Cod and New Hampshire. He worked hard all his life until he retired from GEMS Sensors to spend time with his wife and grandkids. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Maureen Cathy Roy. He leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Marks and her husband Edward of Granby, a son, Ronald Roy, Jr. of Harwinton; and three grandchildren, Juliane Marks, Alexa Marks and Kari Marks, all of Granby.
