Ronald F. “Butch” Monn, 71, of Peru, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Butch was born August 10, 1950 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Daniel and Grace (Ross) Monn. He was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. He married Paula Jacobowski on September 13, 1985 in Ottawa.
Butch was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army having served two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour of duty in Iraq. He also worked as a clerk at the Peru Post Office for 27 years. Butch was a member of Utica Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, travel, camping and family time.
Survivors include his wife, Paula; four children, Melissa (Greg) Herron of Peru, Samantha (Anthony) Brown of Utica, Michael Monn of Dalzell and Susan (Joel) Miller of Oglesby; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Danna Hopkins of Florida and Sherri (Rodger) Coghill of Lacon; one brother, Ross Monn of Washington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law and a brother-in-law, Craig Hopkins.
