Ronald E. Thomas, 49, of Wareham. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ron Thomas. Ron grew up in Plymouth, spending most of his time with family and friends. He was a storyteller, sharing all of his experiences and memories he had with his family and friends. He was curious. He was adventurous. He had a broad range of interests and liked to experience and explore many things. His life was cut short by various health problems and failed medical interventions over the last few years. Rons long stint on dialysis might have ended with a transplant, which was denied several times by the medical profession. The treatment regimens he instead endured were as varied as they were painful. But in spite of this, Ron rarely complained, and instead lived his life as fully as possible, asking for little, even in his final days. He died unexpectedly, in his longtime home in Wareham. Rons life was too short, but he will be remembered as a loving father, brother, and friend who was straight forward (almost to a fault) and honest. A dedicated employee, he worked for over two decades as a civil engineer for OConnor Constructors. He played pool twice a week, and considered his teammates as extended family. He went fishing as often as possible, and planned annual trips on the Captain John boats. Ron carried on family traditions, and provided a bridge between generations. He passed on the values of his loving parents to his only daughter, whose presence in his life brought out the very best in him, and who was truly the light of his life. Ron is predeceased by his Grandparents, Ken Devers, John and Maryanne Thomas, and his parents, Arthur and Dawn Thomas. He is survived by his Grandmother, Elenore Devers, his siblings, Tammi, Ken, and Rick Thomas, and his aforementioned daughter, Lauren Thomas.
