Ronald E. McVey, 80, of Anderson, passed away on March 30, 2019 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on September 17, 1938 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Everett and Neva McVey. He was an Anderson resident his entire life and a graduate of Anderson High School.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was employed by the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors as a machine repairman, retiring in 2003.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman and craftsman. The woods and lakes were his home where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most important to Ron was his wife and family with whom he spent his days enjoying life. He will always be remembered as a husband, father, brother, and friend for his kind heart, gentle spirit and never ending supply of humor.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon McVey; daughters, Teresa (Charles) McKenzie of South Bend, IN, and Stephanie (Richard) VanArsdall of Harrodsburg, KY; grandchildren, Charlie McKenzie III and Chase McKenzie. Also surviving are his brothers, Harry (Linda) McVey and Randy McVey (Marcella); sister-in-law, Sandy (John) Bowman-Breek; brother-in-law, Corval Zeabart, and several nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Neva McVey; brother, Richard McVey; and sister, Marge Finley.
