Ronald E. McLeod, 67, of Virginia, IL died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
He was born June 2, 1941 in Jacksonville, IL; the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Pearn McLeod. He married Karen Gentry on November 26, 1969 in Virginia and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Joe McLeod of Virginia; a sister, Jolene Brannan (husband, Michael) of Jacksonville; and a niece, Jocelyn Knoblock of Joliet. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step son, Greg Carpenter.
Mr. McLeod was a 1959 graduate of Virginia High School and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self employed trucker for many years prior to joining Sunrise Ag in 1999. He retired in 2008. In past years, he enjoyed working on the Virginia Christmas Parade and Santaâ??s visit to the Log Cabin.
