Ronald Dee Ames, 69, died of natural causes on Tuesday November 10, 2015. He was born on August 20, 1946 in Caldwell, ID to Donald and Evelyn Ames. In 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as an ordinance mechanic aboard the USS Richmond K. Turner during the Vietnam War.
Ron was a hard-worker his entire life holding various positions with Kit Manufacturing and later Guerdon’s Enterprises prior to retiring. He used the skills he learned in these positions to expand his hobby of wood working through building toys, play houses, and furniture for his children. He loved Nascar races, especially #3, and going fishing. He taught all of his kids to fish and we’ve all inherited his love for the outdoors. He was happiest when camping with his family, even if it was pouring rain and everyone was stuck in a leaky tent. He instilled in his children the value of hard work, caring for family and American pride. He loved unconditionally and was proud of each of his children.
Ron is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Coleen) and LeeRoy; two sons, Reilly and Tom (and their mother, Mary Jo); four daughters, Arlena, Sylvia, Ericka and Calley (and their mother Starla); as well as two beautiful grandchildren, Zane and Isla.
