Ronald Dean Bulington, age 80, of Rensselaer, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born in Lee, Indiana on May 23, 1938, the son of Floyd and Edna Bulington.
He attended Rensselaer schools until joining the United Sates Navy where he served for three years on the USS Des Moines. Ron returned to Rensselaer where he married the love of his life, Carol Wright, on June 5, 1960. Together they had three children, Cindy (Tim) Smith, Jeff (Robin) Bulington and Debra (Mark) Purevich.
He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Katie, Bret, Kara, Kyle, Coleton, Josh, Dustin, Matt (Sarah), Jeremy (Maggie), Aaron (Lauren), Hannah and Michael, and three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Sydney, and Clara. Other survivors include his siblings, Russel (Fran) Bulington, Rosie (Ralph) Yeoman and Alvin (Peg) Bulington. Ron was preceded by his parents and seven siblings, Gene, Velda, Phyllis, June, Lula, Stanley and Michael. When returning to Rensselaer, Ron began work at Sealy Springs in 1959 and continued working there until his retirement in 2005. He was affiliated with the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Ron’s hobbies included carving, gardening, fishing, camping, antiquing, visiting casinos and most important, supporting his grandchildren at Rensselaer athletic events.
