Ronald D. Gibson 73, of Veedersburg, Indiana, formerly of Crawfordsville and Indianapolis, passed away at his home on March 10, 2017 with friends and family by his side. He was born September 19, 1943 in Muncie, IN to Roy W. and Ruth H. Gibson.

Ron spent summers in Shoals and Loogootee, IN with his father and cousins, he cherished his time working on the Gibson Farm with his family.

After graduating from Thomas Carr Howe High School, he entered the US Navy and then briefly attended Purdue University. After a short stint in Arizona he moved back to Indiana where he met and married his wife, Nancy K. Blacker and moved to Crawfordsville, IN. After 32 years he retired from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and retired just outside of Veedersburg, IN with Nancy.

Ron enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, gardening, gold prospecting, and doing genealogy research. And he loved riding the golf cart with all of his grandchildren. He was a member of the NRA, Gun Owners of America, Gold Prospectors Association of America and Grace of God Fellowship in Kingman, IN.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Roy W. Gibson; mother Ruth H. Roepke; stepfather (Robert W. Roepke) and his wife, Nancy K. Gibson (Blacker). Survivors include his daughter, Jill (Chad) Aker; son, Jake (Kelli) Gibson; grandchildren, Jessica, Staci, Ryan, Addi, Erin; sister, Mary L. Roepke; and special friend, Jena Holmes.
