Ron graduated in 1954 with the first graduating class from Ben Lomond high school, where he made many lifelong friends. Growing up he enjoyed fishing, hiking, and hunting with his brother Keith and neighborhood buddies. They explored all around Ogden Canyon, Ogden River, and Monte Cristo area. He has always loved the Monte Cristo Mountain range. He snowmobiled, hunted, and fished there his whole life. He loved to be the tour guide in the Monte Cristo Mountains and would always have stories about the different cabins, hunting spots and time he spent there.

Ron met the love of his life, Sharon Anderson on the 4th of July 1957 at Bear Lake. They were married on June 22, 1958 in Elko, Nevada and enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Their marriage was blessed with two children Shawn and Julie. Bear Lake was a special place for Ron and Sharon. They spent many years at their place by the lake. They made sure everyone felt welcome and loved spending time there. Ron was a devoted, loving, and fun dad. He created a life where family was first. He spent his whole life serving others, especially his family.

Ron served in the Utah National Guard and received the rank of Sargent. He was the owner and operator of Wheelwright Disposal Company, where the motto was ‘Double your trash back if not satisfied with our service” Ron was ethical and an exceptionally hard worker. He enjoyed working with a large group of his friends and people he met along the way. He was a good employer, always kind to his employees.

Ron was loving, faithful, friendly, and adventurous. He spent his weekends, hunting, snowmobiling, golfing, and camping with family. Ron adored his family and was supportive of his children, grandchildren, and their friends, he loved to play practical jokes on them. He didn’t just find the happy life, he went out and made it. Ron didn’t know any strangers. Ron had a special gift to make friendships with a unique, individual bond that made you feel like you were the favorite. We all love Ron, and we will miss him very much. He spent his life being a devoted and loving husband, parent, grandparent, great grandparent, and friend to everyone.
