Ronald Wilson Cates Sr., age 77, of Birmingham, passed away January 25, 2014. Mr. Cates was a member of the American Legion, was an avid golfer making numerous “Holes In One”, loved Alabama football, basketball, Braves baseball and many other sports. He is preceded in death by his son Ron Cates Jr., parents David Wilson Cates and Hazel Weaver Cates.
