Ronald C. Trombley, 70, of Plainville, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, September 26, 2008.  He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Boyea) Trombley, with whom he shared 48 years of love and devotion.

Mr. Trombley was born in Mooers Forks, New York on March 18, 1938, one of seven children to the late Clifford and Ruby (LaMere) Trombley.  His early years were spent in upstate New York, where he attended local schools, and met the love of his life, Catherine in 1960.  Six months later, they were married and moved to Torrington where they resided for 28 years while Ronnie worked for the Torrington Knitting and Textile Mills.

They made their home in Plainville for the past 19 years.  A man who liked to keep busy, Ronnie never fully retired, most recently working at Kohl’s in Plainville where he leaves many friends and co-workers.  He had a love for the outdoors, and occasionally enjoyed bowling or working on vehicles, always having an ongoing project to work on. He will be remembered most for his love for family and adoration for children, especially his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Catherine, he leaves his brothers and sisters, Sylvina and her husband, Charles Snay of Southington, Virginia and her husband, Samuel “Pete” Rotella of Moriah, N.Y., and Wayne Trombley and his wife, Donna of Torrington; his brothers-in-law, Rowan Malbon of Moriah, NY and William Armstrong of Mineville, NY.
