BRIGHAM CITY – Ron Bird Garrett, age 84, passed from this life on January 15, 2014, after a courageous 9 A½ year battle with cancer. Born September 2, 1929, Wellsville, Utah, to Henry and Iola Bird Garrett. Graduated from South Cache High School in 1948. Married Janeen Parkinson September 20, 1950 in the Logan Temple. Served in the Korean War 1951-1952 in Army Artillery and as an Honor Guard to a General. Retired from Defense Depot Ogden after 35 years.
He loved hunting, camping, and fishing with his family. He loved winters in Yuma and summers in Montana.
Surviving are his wife Janeen, four children: Ronda (Keith) Hardy, Bruce (Teresa) Garrett, Gaylene (Kevin) Nebeker, Teri (Thayne-deceased) Scothern, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren (two on the way).
