Ronald B. Skrip, 70, of Freeport, died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born December 18, 1936 in Chicago he was the son of Aloysious and Helene (Mroczek) Skrzypczynski. He married Kathleen Garvin November 18, 1972 in Elgin, IL.
Ronald was a mechanical engineer and traveled the world extensively for Philips Electronics. He served with the United States Marines from 1955 through 1958. He was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed reading and woodworking and was an accomplished handyman. He was a disciplined, hard working man who loved his family very much and placed them above himself.
Even more importantly, he loved his Lord, Jesus Christ and is with Him now. Surviving is his wife, Kathleen of Freeport; his children, Samantha C. Skrip and Zachary G. (Leanne) Skrip both of Bellingham, Washington; two brothers, Thomas Skrip of Chicago and Paul (Cathy) Skrip of Shoreview, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents.
