He is survived by his loving wife Mary Louise White LaVergne, son John Basil LaVergne his wife Celeste C. LaVergne, grandson John Michael LaVergne, daughter Maryellen White LaVergne, sister Mary Jacqueline Cochrane LaVergne.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 18, 1937 where he spend summers in Angola, Indiana enjoying his love of lake style life.
