Ronald B. “Ron” Ackerman, 73, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 43 years.
Ron was born on August 12, 1944, in New Rochelle, New York. He was the son of Daniel and Margaret (Elmer) Ackerman. Ron married Sally Anne Eaves on April 7, 1974 in Galesburg, she survives. Along with his loving wife, Ron is survived by two sons, Corri (Suzanne) Ackerman of San Antonio, Texas, and Daniel (Kelly) Ackerman of Gray, Tennessee; a daughter, Carra (Todd) Stinnett of Maywood, Missouri; three granddaughters; and five grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a granddaughter.
Ron was an engineer for the BNSF Railroad for 33 years. He retired in 2003. Ron was also an ongoing member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved to spend time with his family. Ron was much loved and will be truly missed.
