Ronald Allen Rohde peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2017 in his home in Centennial, Colorado at the age of 88. Ron was born December 8, 1928 on a farm in western Nebraska to George and Emma (Kurth). He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He graduated from Gurley High School in 1946. He married the sweetheart of his life Doris Schroeder in February 1951 and soon after the nuptials, the Army sent him to Japan and then to Korea where he served in the communications unit. He was discharged in August of 1952 and returned to Sidney, NE. The couple were blessed with two children, Bruce in May 1953 and Brenda in November 1955. Ron began a career in the oil industry on a drilling rig near Sidney, NE. He continued working in the oil field as a salesman and in 1969, he was promoted to Area Operations Manager with Dresser Industries and moved to Littleton, Colorado. He retired in 1986 from Dresser and while both enjoying many rounds of golf himself, worked as a golf course ranger at the Lone Tree Country Club. He did that until his eye sight would no longer permit him to drive the carts in 1999. As a hobby, Ron was a self-taught woodworker.
