Ronald Allen Cheek, aged 73, joined his beloved wife, Jerri Cheek, on the 17th of August. Ron died in the comfort of his home under Aspen Hospice and the care of his daughter, Tina Veilleux; brother, Steven Cheek; sister and brother-law, Joy and Ron Spurlock; and his mother, Grace Cheek. On this day, Ron was alleviated of all his earthly restrictions. After a long battle, he is at peace with his beloved.

Ron was born July 5, 1947, to Glen and Eula Grace Cheek. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Navy. Ron served from the years 1965-1969.

Ron and Jerri Cheek were married on December 7th, 1967. Ron was deployed for Vietnam on the 26th of January 1968. They only spent a matter of months together before Ron left to serve in Vietnam. In fact, one of the messenger planes was shot down, and Ron returned to the United States without a clue that Jerri knew. Sure enough, she was there waiting for him, and from there they officially started their life together. After 53 years of marriage, their souls only remained apart for 20 days on earth.

Aside from the outstanding awards and recognition through the military, Ron continued to excel in his personal life. Ron and Jerri Cheek stabled a successful line of artwork under the name: Ron Cheek Artist of the Great West. He saw the world in a different way and was able to capture it on a canvas. From the artwork he displayed, the wondrous home-cooked meals he prepared, and the family he raised, he gave his entire soul. Ron was a loud, boastful, and proud man. Throughout all of it, his greatest accomplishments to him were being a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a great grandfather.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Tina Veilleux of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Steven Cheek of Eugene, OR; sister, Joy (Ron) Spurlock of Horton, AL; one grandchild, Rj Veilleux of Idaho falls, ID, and one great grandchild, Nauhla Veilleux.

Ron was proceeded in death by both his parents; and his beloved wife, Jerri Cheek.

In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place no one else will ever fill.
