Ronald Keith Albert, age 78, of Spirit Lake, passed away Monday November 5, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was born April 27, 1934, in Hartley, Iowa, to Art and Vera (Welch) Albert. Ron graduated from Hartley High School in 1952. He entered the U.S. Army on October 21, 1953 and was honorably discharged on July 1, 1955. Ron married Irma Froendt on October 6, 1957 in Spirit Lake. Irma passed away on December 22, 1999. Ron then married Joy Ley, on January 10, 2003. Following their marriage the couple resided in Spirit Lake. Ron was manager of Spirit Lake Ready Mix for forty years until he retired, and he was a volunteer fireman for twenty seven years. He was a deacon in the church, enjoyed his family, playing cards, fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles and all sports. Ron is survived by his wife Joy Albert of Spirit Lake; a daughter Linda and her husband Daniel Ellingson of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; a son Philip and his wife Elizabeth Albert of Blaine, Minnesota; two step daughters Susan and her husband Steve Bosma of Buffalo Center, Iowa and Mary and her husband Rande Giesking of Lakota, Iowa; two step sons Tony and his wife Fran Jensvold and Todd Jensvold both of Brainerd, Minnesota; four grandchildren Caleb, Braden, Megan and Matthew; eleven step grandchildren Jesse, Katie, Sarah, Jeremiah, Emily, Grace, Mitchell, Lauren, Sydney, Kayla and Jacob; four step great grandchildren Kaiden, Gabby, Sophie and Wyatt; and a brother Dale Albert of Sanborn, Iowa. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife irma and his son Steven.
