Romualda Rae Zibert, 70, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, May 03, 2011. Mrs. Zibert was born October 29, 1940 in LaSalle to Anton and Romualda Rae (Artkop) Zukowski. She married Robert E. Zibert on May 5, 1962 at St. Hyacinths Church in LaSalle. Mrs. Zibert was a member of St. Josephs Church in Peru.
She received an Associates degree from LPO Junior College and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Education. She taught for several years in Oglesby and Dimmick before retiring to devote her time to her family. She was a very active member of the LaSalle-Peru High School Class of 1958 Reunion Committee. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Dr. Sara) Zibert of Beloit, WI and Michael (Vicki) Zibert of Algonquin; two daughters, Mary (Jeff) Schmoeger of Cottage Grove, WI and Carol (Frank) Senica of LaSalle; nine grandchildren; one sister, Christine Sloan of Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob on March 7, 2008.
