Roman Melo, 89, beloved Husband, Father, Uncle and Friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021, with loving family at his side. He entered this world on December 17, 1931 in Albuquerque’s Old Town, born to Manuel and Euphelia Melo.

Roman served his country from 1951 through 1989. He served in the Air Force, the Air Force National Guard, and worked for the Department of Defense. He was a parishioner at the Church of the Ascension. He was also a former usher and choir member at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. In addition, he sang with the All City Spanish Choir for many years.

Roman is predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Euphelia Melo; his brothers, Manuel and Herbert Melo; and sisters, Irene Gallegos and Priscilla Keagle.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann; his children, Ernest (Paula) Melo and Stephanie (Patrick) Guerrera; grandchildren, Jacob, Claire, and Andrea Melo and Anthony and Steven Guerrera. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Melo; and many nephews and nieces and good friends.
