Roman Lutsiuk, 39, a courageous patriot of Ukraine, passed away March 19, 2016 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Tetiana Lutsiuk. Roman was seriously injured in November 2014, receiving mortal abdominal wounds, while defending his country from Russian aggression. A series of surgeries performed in Kyiv did not bring a positive result and Roman was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven in January 2015. In October, he successfully underwent a major surgery but, subsequently, multiple postoperative complications developed. It is hard to describe what he went through during those five months. He was a person of very strong spirit. Roman was undoubtedly a true patriot of his motherland and a person with a big heart. His wife, Tania lost a loving husband and his two lovely daughters lost a great father.
