Romalyn Romi Halterman, 62, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010, at Loyola Medical University after a decade-long battle with scleroderma. She was born June 13, 1948, in Ottawa, to Harry and Ruth (Lacy) Miner. She was married to Jerry Halterman on May 26, 1972, in Ottawa, by the Rev. Thomas Maloney, of St. Patrick Church.
She is survived her husband, Jerry, her three sons, Clint, Rod (Kylie), and Lance, and her two granddaughters, Alexis and Samantha, her mother, Ruth, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, her sister, Diane (Carl) Gill and her family, and a great number of devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Thomas Mettille. She was a lifelong Ottawa Resident, a member of St. Patrick Church, and was an active member of the community serving as member of the Child Welfare Guild and on the Human Rights Committee at Friendship House of Ottawa. Her remains have been donated to medical research.
