Roland Otto Schultz, age 73, of Rensselaer passed away Thursday August 2, 2012 at the Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer, Indiana. Roland was born October 1, 1938 in Rensselaer, Indiana, the son of the late Otto and Anna (Bowers) Schultz.

He was a lifetime resident and attended the Fair Oaks public schools. On August 3, 1958, in Rensselaer, Roland married Norma “Sugar” Schultz who survives. Roland worked in the parts department for the former Butler-Nichols John Deere implement dealership. Later, he worked for Sayler Construction as a carpenter in new home construction and assisted as a farm hand on the Sayler Farms. He also mowed yards for several people. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and keeping busy working.

Surviving are his loving family, wife Norma “Sugar”, daughter Tina (Larry) French of Pickerington, OH; son Timothy (Debbie) Schultz of Rensselaer, Indiana, 8 grandchildren, Jason (Jen) Schultz, Tyler Schultz, Cody Schultz, Angela (Matt) Thacker, Adam French, Jillian French, Jerry (Elizabeth) French and Holly French, 4 Great-grandchildren and his best buddy – his dog “Nappy” who watch over him during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Woodcock Bohacik.
