Mr. Livingston passed away peacefully at a local hospital. He is the husband of Ida P. Livingston. Viewing is Monday, June 17th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mortuary.

ROLAND LERON LIVINGSTON was born on November 22, 1939 in Zainesville, Ohio. He was the fifth of seven children born to the late Matrol and Mamie Virlene Livingston. He was preceded in death by five of his siblings; Charlotte, Marlin, James, Rachel and Delores.

Roland was proud to be one of the first Afro-American Machinists at Lincoln Electric Company in Euclid, Ohio, where he worked for seven years.

In 1966, Roland united in marriage with Ida P. Taylor in Cleveland. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children; Rosalyn, Terrence and Roland Jr.

In 1968, after being hired as a Machinist at General Dynamics, Roland relocated to San Diego, California, where he was employed with this company from 1968 t0 1978. In 1979, he began working for Hughes Aircraft in Carlsbad, California until his retirement due to disability in 1988.

Roland, who lived a Christian life, united with Mt.

Roland was very adventurous and believed in living life to its fullest. His major hobbies were fishing, golfing, traveling and watching sports; he was also an ardent Padre and Charger fan. He was an outstanding cook and enjoyed preparing gourmet meals for his family and friends.

On Saturday, June 8, 2013, Roland Leron Livingston departed this life leaving a legacy of love, kindness and respect to all whose lives he touched.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of forty-six years, Ida Livingston of San Diego, California; three loving children, Rosalyn Parker of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terrence and Roland Jr.; one brother, Matrol Livingston; a devoted friend, Daniel Smith all of San Diego, California; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
