Roland J. Radford passed away quietly in his sleep on Sunday morning November 12, 2017 at the age of 79.
Roland was born in Sterling Colorado to Harry and Marie Radford. He grew up in Chappell Nebraska where he was known as “Ronnie”. He married his high school sweetheart Beverly Younglund on September 12, 1958. The couple moved to Pomona California where he began his career at General Telephone Co. They had four sons, Joel, Rodney, Robert (Bobby) and Michael.
The family then moved to Northern California and eventually settled in San Jose. He enrolled his boys in scouting and enjoyed taking them camping and fishing. His favorite sport!
In later years Roland, Beverly and his beloved Jack Russell, Rudy (who was his constant companion) retired in Emmett, Idaho.
Roland is survived by his wife Beverly; their four sons, Joel (Laurie), Rodney, Robert aka Bobby (Janell) and Michael (Cindy); eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two of his sisters, Frances (Phil) Fidel, Joyce (Dave) Melburn and many nieces and nephews.
