Roland F. Lasso, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital -Muhlenberg.
Born in Freemansburg, he was the son of the late John and Irene (Nagy) Lasso.
Roland met his future wife, Stella after returning from the Pacific in World War II. They were a team after marriage and traveled the world during Roland’s career in the United States Army.
Roland was a Paratrooper and served in 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions, he was one of about 350 veterans to have received a Combat Infantry Badge for three wars-WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters for Valor. He was a Master Parachutist and an Expert Marksman with the Carbine and Rifle.
Roland and Stella were separated many times during the turbulent war years and they cherished their reunions with the growing family. Roland loved returning home to Freemansburg.
