Roger “BAT” Washington Baptiste passed away on November 19, 2016 at the young age 60. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from Clark High School. He resided in River Ridge, Louisiana.
He is the proud father of LaTrisha Baptiste-Stokes and Fernandus Smoot. He was the caring grandfather of Laila Stokes, Lillian Stokes, Calvin Roger Stokes, Fernandus Smoot Jr., and Darius Smoot.
Roger is survived by his mother, Ernestine Lillian Baptiste; seven siblings: Barbara Robichaux, Mary Smith, Lucille Williams, Donna Baptiste, Ernestine Baptiste, Louise Baptiste, and Cecilia Williams along with a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Roger was predeceased by his father Joseph washington and his brother Joseph W. Baptiste.
He was a dedicated United States postal worker for over 30 years.
