Roger L. Smith, Sr., 78, a resident of Hapeville, GA and a former resident of Lanett passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the South Fulton Hospital in Hapeville.
Survivors include daughters, Tracey Norris (Leroy) and Wendy Anderson both of Lawrenceburg, KY; sons, Roger Smith, Jr. (Penny) of Valley; Randall Smith (Bea) of Rockford, IL; and Clay Smith (Jenny) of Memphis, TN; special friend, Janet Corn of Hapeville, GA; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Farrar Smith and a son, Rockie L. Smith.
Mr. Smith was born in Lanett, AL and attended Lanett High School. He retired from the U. S. Army, having served in Vietnam. After his military service he retired from Sherwin-Williams Paint Company after 19 years. He loved to fish and watch T. V. He was of the Methodist Faith.
