Roger Raymond Fry
1956-2009
Roger Raymond Fry, age 53, of Destin, Florida, passed away June 27, 2009, with his loving family at his side. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Connie Fry, who was at his side during his courageous battle with lung cancer.
Roger was born in Lockport, New York on June 22, 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 16 years. Upon his early retirement from the Air Force, he owned and operated Prestige Pavers. He graduated from the University of West Florida where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He was an avid gardener, and generously shared his harvests with friends and strangers alike, including the Waterfront Rescue Mission.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and a friend to all he met. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him. In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by two loving daughters Sonya Hinzie (Chris) and Kursten Sirmans (Kenny) who he loved with all his heart. He also leaves behind 10 wonderful grandchildren who were the absolute joy and love of his life: Jonathon, Corey, Christopher, Julianna, Caleb, Jesse, Micah, Savana, Maya and Shayla . Survivors also include his loving brother and sister, Randy Fry and Bonnie Andrews, niece Jennifer Andrews and nephew Robbie Andrews.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother and father Dorothy and Raymond Fry, and by his brother Ronnie Fry.
