Roger N. Aiello, 77, of Niles, MI, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born on July 15, 1944 to the late Joseph and Dorothea (Martorano) Aiello in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Houston, Texas. Roger graduated in 1966 from the University of Notre Dame and then traveled the world for International engineering companies holding numerous executive positions, before retiring in 2017. He took a sabbatical from 2002 – 2008 to work for Notre Dame’s Department of Development. Roger married Evelyn (Stevens) in Houston on February 10, 1973, and they enjoyed over 48 years as husband and wife, traveling and enjoying friends around the world. They have resided in Niles, Michigan, off and on, since 2003.

Roger was a member the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, the Patrons of the Arts of the Vatican Museums, the Knights of Columbus and Notre Dame’s Advisory Council for the Institute for Church Life and Center for Social Concerns. A huge fan of ND Athletics, he was an active member of the Notre Dame Club of Houston followed by the local St. Joseph Valley Club. Roger loved Formula 1 races, golf, travel, especially to Italy, and fine wine. In addition to his loving wife, Roger is survived by a sister, Diane Ciulla of Dallas, TX; and several nieces & nephews.
