Roger Joseph Massey (Masse’), 84, of Milford, Connecticut, husband to the late Jackie Massey, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022. Roger was born in Saint Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Oliver and Delia Masse’ on October 3, 1938. Roger was one of 14 children.
As a young man Roger worked on his family’s farm; milking cows, working in the soil, baling hay, and feeding the animals. He had even worked on the railroad with his father for some time. In his later years, Dad worked in the trades as a sheet rocker and then a taper, helping build homes for families. Roger was passionate about fly fishing, gardening, his work, but most of all his family.
Roger was happily married to his late wife, Jackie Fortin Massey, for 41 years before her struggle with Parkinson’s took her in 1999. Roger was a loving Husband and father. He was also a kind and compassionate man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Roger is survived by his Daughter, Doreen (Mark) Baker of Milford, CT; his son, Raymond (Katelyn) Massey of Statesville, NC; 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend and partner, Bobbie.
