Roger Lee Crist Age 76 of Owosso went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11am, Friday February 3, 2017 at Life in Christ Church with Pastor Eric Numerich officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from 2pm to 8pm.Roger was born May 14, 1940 in Jackson, the son of Merel and Helen (Mullin) Crist. He enjoyed working on cars, building motors and was licensed to repair heavy equipment. Roger was an avid NASCAR fan and outdoorsman; he looked forward to camping, fishing and cookouts. Roger could often be found watching TV with his dog Laci, but most of all he loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. Roger married Connie Knickerbocker in Manchester, Michigan on December 21, 1963.Roger is survived by his wife Connie; children Melanie Averett, Richard Crist, Randy (Anita) Crist, Mark (Bonnie) Crist and Mary (Jeff) Tullar; grandchildren Amanda Averett, Jeremy Stampford, David Stampford, Cortney Coppersmith, Connor Coppersmith, Kadie Crist, Kevin Crist, Nicholas Crist and Makayla Crist; 1 great-grandchild; brother Charles (Michele) Crist; adopted children Dave, Todd, John, Laura, Shannon, Stacy and several other special children; many other loving family and friends.He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters Mary Jane Buys and Marilyn Crist.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
