• Date Of Birth: September 17, 1934
  • Date Of Death: May 28, 2021
  • State: Colorado

Roger is survived by his wife Marian, his daughter Paula, his sister Martha Arneson, and his sister Mary Newcomer.  He was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Smith and his son Peter.

He was a devoted family man who also generously gave much of his time to his community.  He was a member of the Denver Classics Chorale and added his musical talents to the Denver Concert Band. He also proudly worked for 30 years at the US Post Office.

Perhaps his most cherished accomplishment was his role in the rebuilding of the Blue Knight of Colorado Drum & Bugle Corps.  He took the reigns as president of the board of directors and chaired the steering committee and fund raising activities that reorganized the corporation.  He also served as corps director for a time and managed equipment and travel as they made their way back into prominence.

In his later years he added his considerable musical talents to several jazz and swing bands in the Denver area as a professional saxophone and clarinet player.  He considered this his reward, as his true passion was music.

Roger was a humble man who had a giant impact on so many people.  He was a soft spoken counselor and inspiring role model.  He will be sorely missed.
