Roger Gump, 72, of Huntertown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Roger was born on June 6, 1948, to Elvin “Andy” and Elfrieda (Ehmke) Gump.

He graduated from Huntertown High School, Class of 1967. Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country.

Roger was married to Judy Kirby in Wabash, in 1969. The couple enjoyed spending time with their family and friends at Adam’s Lake in the summer and wintering in Dunedin, Florida.

He retired from General Electric as a process development specialist, after 30 years of service.

Roger devoted his life to service. He was a loyal member of the Huntertown Fire Department where he served as a firefighter and was one of the first EMT’s in the area. Roger also served as the Perry Township Trustee for 32 years. He served as a member of the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority Board, Aging and In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana Board, REMC Operation Roundup Board and the Perry Township Board.

Roger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Gump; his son, Greg (Amber) Gump; his daughter, Amy (Vince) Passino; two brothers, Jerry (Rebecca) Gump and Tim (Mary) Gump; a sister-in-law, Cindy Gump; four grandchildren, Emma, Jakob, Hallie and Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Gump.8.
