Roger Freese, 88, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa.
Roger was born on December 30, 1932 in Ottawa to Edmund and Edna (Spohr) Freese.
Roger worked as an insurance claims investigator. He married Lacene Sangston on February 10, 1957 and were married for over 64 years. He served in the Army Security Agency 8620 DU in Frankfurt from 1954 to 1956.
He attended the University of Illinois, was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, VFW Post 2470, American Legion Post 33 and served as the Honor Guard for 16 years and served in over 300 military funerals. After retirement, Roger volunteered for 16 years at the Ottawa Hospital in their data entry department.He is survived by his wife, Lacene Freese, of Ottawa; three children, Terrill Freese, of San Antonio, TX, Brian Freese, of Bloomingdale, Scott Freese, of Clinton; and a sister, Ruth Harlow, of Streator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Edna and a brother, Robert Freese.
