He was proud of his military service, and felt honored to serve his country. He inspired many to serve and embodied the Navy’s unofficial motto “not self but country.” Our father was loved by many. He was truly a wonderful man and touched a lot of lives. Dedicated not only to his family, but also his country. He fought in the Vietnam War for our freedom and will always be our hero. He wore his uniform proudly and loved the USA. We look up to our father for the great example he was and continues to be. He pulled no punches and was a very honest, respectful man and expected nothing but the same. There is not a person we could aspire to be more like and we are definitely proud and honored to be able to call him our dad. Roger Hill, Marie’s husband, our father, brother, grand-father, uncle, will be deeply missed forever. We love him more than words on a piece of paper could ever say. He taught his children so many rich values believing we could do anything we set our minds to. His love and discipline have made his children the hard working, caring, loving people they are today. He has left us way too early. We will be so lost without him, but we are comforted knowing he is walking beside his daughter and our sister, Regina Marie. We will miss you terribly Dad.. know that we will love you forever, we will cherish your memory and look forward to the day we are all together again. God truly blessed us when he made you our father. Thank you dad for being our father, mentor, and Love You!!! My father’s love of his life has been our mother, Marie. They had something special, the epitome of true love. To this day, my father continued to call her “his bride”. Recently asked of dad, “Does it seem like that long”” and he replied, “It feels like I just married her yesterday!” A true example of The Perfect Love, Forever!!!!
