Roger E. Stephenson, 71, of Cassopolis, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, in the presence of his family. Roger was born November 7, 1942 in Cassopolis, Michigan to Alton and Evelyn (Stowe) Stephenson. He married Hazel L. Allen November 25, 1961 in Dailey, Michigan. She survives. Roger was a Licensed Land Surveyor for close to fifty years.
He is the elected Cass County Surveyor, currently serving his third term. Roger will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of over fifty two years, Hazel (Allen) Stephenson of Cassopolis; two daughters, Michelle Stephenson and Kaylynn Stephenson, both of South Bend, Indiana; four sons, Kenneth Stephenson of Cassopolis, Timothy (Tori) Stephenson of Milton, Georgia, Thomas (Diane) Stephenson of Cassopolis, Mason Stephenson of Cassopolis; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Karen Lehman of Marcellus; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George Stephenson and Richard Stephenson.
