                                          ROGER E. BADERTSCHER

    Roger E. Badertscher, 64, of rural Tecumseh, passed away at his home Monday, April 14, 2014.  He was born to Eldon and Aloma (Heidemann) Badertscher on December 4, 1949.  He was baptized December 18, 1949 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, by Rev. W. G. Nau and confirmed March 22, 1964 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) by Rev. F. E. Kruse where he continued as a lifelong member.  Roger graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1968.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.   He was united in marriage to Joyce Ottemann on May 21, 1971 at Martin Luther Church, rural Johnson, Nebraska.  To this union three sons were born, Tony, Brad and Mark.

   Roger and Joyce made their home west of Tecumseh where they farmed and raised their sons.  Roger also worked for the Johnson County Department of Roads until his health recently failed.

   He is survived by his wife, Joyce Badertscher of Tecumseh, sons, Tony Badertscher and wife Jane of Holdrege, Brad Badertscher and wife Leah of South Bend, Indiana, Mark Badertscher and wife Tami of Tecumseh, grandchildren, Tyler, Elijah, Samuel, Blaise, Kayden and Reese, mother, Aloma Badertscher of Tecumseh, sister, Carol Ehlers of Steinauer, brothers, Randy Badertscher of Bern, Kansas, Ron Badertscher of  Tecumseh, Royce Badertscher and wife Nancy of Tecumseh, mother-in-law, Lila (Bohling) Ottemann of  Elk Creek, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken and Annette Ottemann of  Johnson and Sharon and John Kuti of Fort Calhoun and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  Roger was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Badertscher, grandson, Braden Badertscher, father-in-law, Mervin Ottemann and brother-in-law, John Ehlers.
