Roger Dale Downs, age 61, of Rensselaer passed away July 9, 2017 in Rensselaer.
He was born February 4, 1956, in Rensselaer, Indiana, the son of Frank Carl Downs and Marilyn Sue Storey Downs. Roger was a lifetime resident and attended Rensselaer schools. Roger was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was self employed as a mechanic at his shop behind the Red Baron Store. Roger enjoyed working in his garage and had numerous customers that he enjoyed visiting with and helping to get “back on the road”. His marriage was to Tina Marie Willems and they were later divorced.
Surviving are his children, Amy Downs, Kristie (Larry) Hofferth and Amanda Downs, all of Rensselaer, Indiana; six grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas Downs of Monticello, IN and David Downs of Rensselaer, IN and one sister, Beth Downs Carroll of Rensselaer.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife and one daughter, Shanon Willems.
