Roger Michel Claret, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas was born February 23, 1956, in San Francisco, California to the late Raoul Joseph Claret and Amelia Marie (Brown) Claret. He was preceded in death by his parents, a first cousin, Shelia Brown, Uncle Floyd Brown, Aunt Lil Rogers and sister-in-law, Nancy Bell.

Roger passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his residence in the Bookman Community.

In 1977, at age 23, while employed with Bank of America in the Returns Department, Roger met his future bride, Miss Mary Dian Whitman. After a short courtship, while a member of the San Francisco Christian Center, Roger and Mary exchanged wedding vows on September 8, 1979. To this union were born three children, Roger Alexander Claret and wife Kayla Dianne of Conway, Dian Michelle Claret of Little Rock, and Jenne’ Marie Claret of Pine Bluff. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Mark Claret Franklin, Harmony LaVonne Franklin, Roger Claret, II, Malik Michel Claret, Natalie Annalise Claret, Amelia MaKenzie Franklin and Carson Markell Claret Franklin; brothers, Raoul Claret and wife Mary, Ronnie Claret and wife Liz all of California; father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Mae Ella Whitman; in-laws, Barbara DeLoney and husband Michael; Eddie Whitman, Sr., Michael and wife Gloria Whitman and Belinda Whitman all of Pine Bluff; Beverlyn and husband Charles Jackson of Sheridan and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Roger worked for Lowe’s for over 20 years and he had served in the United States Army as an active duty soldier for 14 years, and in the Unites States National Guard for 8 years, totaling 22 years of service. His military education includes Medical Specialist, Emergency Medical Technician, NCO Education System (Basic), Field Sanitation Team Training. In addition to serving, Roger received numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons. His accomplishments are Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge, Humanitarian Service Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle, Hand Grenade &.45 Cal Pistol), Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Advance First Aid and Emergency Care, Unit Armorer Course, NBC Defense Course and Airlift Hazardous Materials.
