Roger C. Hagberg, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Waterbury Hospital. Roger
was born March 12, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Clifford H. and Eleanor J. Hagberg
(Kohler). He is survived by his sister, Nancy Bartosik, one cousin, two nephews and two
grandnieces. He was predeceased by two step-mothers, Thelma E. Hagberg (Reidel) and
Arline J. Hagberg (Peterson); and by his brother, Gustaf R. Hagberg. Roger was a long-time
resident of Southbury Training School living in Cottages #28, #34, and #41 over the 70 years he
was there. He was out-going, funny, sweet and kind. He loved coffee, spaghetti, music, the
Boston Red Sox, and was a master of telling jokes to everyone he’d meet. Roger’s family would
like to thank all the staff at Southbury that have interacted with him, for providing him a safe,
loving, supportive environment that he could grow and thrive in.
