Roger A. Hazen, 82, of Ashland, Ohio, passed peacefully on July 13, 2021. Roger was born to Charles and Ethel (Soliday) Hazen on November 9, 1938 and was a graduate of Ashland High School. Roger married his beloved wife, Lela, in 1960 and raised two amazing children. He was a U.S. Army veteran who continued supporting fellow veterans as a proud member of the honor guard with the Harry Higgins American Legion Post in Ashland. Roger worked in engineering and serviced many towns, including Crestline, Delphos, Defiance and lastly QCI in Westerville before retiring to care for his parents in Ashland. Roger was an avid Ohio sports fan including the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. He also in his younger years he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball at Brookside, along with teaching his son the game.

Roger is survived by his children, Teri (Tom) Pienoski of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and John (Andrea) Hazen of Cardington, Ohio and grandchildren, John C. Hazen II, Craig Hazen, Michael Pienoski, Chris (Dan)Francis, Elizabeth (Jordan) Pienoski and great grandchildren: Hadley, Jackson, and Kenna Hazen and Logan Gonzalez. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Hazen, of Lehigh Acres, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins (notably Marji Hazen who was like a sister to him).

Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Lela (Tedrow) Hazen, parents Charles and Ethel Hazen and grandson, Roger Hazen.
