Rodolfo “Rudy” H. Tristan

December 26, 1952 – October 24, 2022

Rodolfo “Rudy” H. Tristan, 69, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Monday October 24, 2022, with loving family at his side.

Rudy was born on December 26, 1952, in Harlingen, TX to Macario Tristan and Francisca Hernandez Tristan.

Rudy was employed and retired from AT&T after working for the company for 35 years. Rudy loved music and had a great singing voice. He sang and played acoustic guitar for the Queen of Peace Catholic Church choir for many years. He also played the electric bass. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a very knowledgeable and wise man that could fix just about anything. Rudy had a great sense of humor; one of his favorite expressions was “I’m a plumber!” because he said plumbers could handle anything.

Rudy was a strong, selfless, honorable, and gentle man. His faith guided him in everything he did. He left behind a beautiful legacy of service and love. He will be dearly missed by all.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Macario and Francisca Tristan, brother Juan R. Tristan, and sister-in-law Maria G. Tristan.

Rudy leaves behind his loving family to cherish his wonderful memory; his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 49 years, Irma M. Tristan; daughters Rebecca T. Vasquez, Rachel T. Riano (Dan), Nora Tristan, and Selina Tristan; grandchildren Phillip G. Vasquez II, Rodolfo “Rudy” T. Vasquez, Diego M. Vasquez, Daniel J. Riano, Refugio “Cuci” Maza Tristan, Rita Francisca Riano, Adela Maria Vasquez, Dominic L. Riano, and Gemma C. Riano; great granddaughter Camila Vasquez; siblings Susan Pappas (John), Teresa Mata (Juan), and Macario Tristan Jr. (Cristel), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Tristan Family would like to express their most sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Todd D. Shenkenberg, Dr. Faheem Ahmed, and Valley Baptist Medical Center nurses of 3rd ST and 4th ST for their compassionate and attentive care.
