Rodolfo Francisco Monteagudo, “Rudy”, 77, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away at his home on July 14, 2022.
He came to the United States in 1960 as a 15 year old teenager from Cuba seeking political asylum from the Castro regime and settled in upstate New York. Rudy was born January 29, 1945 and lived a fulfilling and successful life as an awarded sales representative for a major Florida home improvement company as well as other positions in sales management through his business career. Rudy worked for many years as an executive for the Reynolds Metals Company in upstate New York and moved to Florida in 1983 where for the majority of his working life in Florida was employed by Sears Home Improvements until he retired in 2007.
Rudy was an excellent golfer and became President of the Tropic Bay Golf league, a true love and source of entertainment for many years. He also loved thoroughbred horse racing and became an excellent handicapper throughout the years. Rudy was a great athlete in his youth achieving a black belt in Judo and a promising baseball player in Cuba.
Rudy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janice, of 25 years, his children Rudy Jr., Tammie and Karen. Son-in laws Don and David, his friend and brother Robert, grandson Max as well as nephew Chris and niece Emily. Rudy was predeceased by his parents Rodolfo and Hilda Monteagudo.
