Rodolfo A. Gonzalez, age 78 of Bridgeport, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2019. Rodolfo is survived by his loving family, mother Manuela Raton, his children Eric Gonzalez and Louise Middaugh (Michael), his sisters Adria Baldieri (Leroy) and Nidia Rebo, his long time companion Maria “Olga” Gonzalez, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Antonio Gonzalez. Better known to all friends and family as “Rudy”, he immigrated from Cuba in 1950. Rudy graduated from Central High School and worked for many years as a lathe machinist at Avco Lycoming in Stratford. In addition to Avco, Rudy was a caddie at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. Rudy was an avid fan of history and travel shows and enjoyed horse racing, charting his favorite stocks and being a formidable opponent to anyone who challenged him in a game of chess. Rudy also played Alto Saxaphone with his grade school friend, Curtis, and they took their show on the road performing at local venues in the greater Bridgeport area. As a loving and caring father, brother, uncle, son and neighbor, Rudy could always be counted on in times of need by providing a helping hand in whatever situation. He will truly be missed.
