Rodney G. Prater, 67, of Patrick Springs, VA died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. Born in Patrick County on April 25, 1945, he was a son of the late Lida Ruth Puckett Prater and Frank Prater. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Perry Frank Prater and a sister, Barbara Ann Dillon. Mr. Prater was retired from the railroad. He was a member of Whippoorwill Church of Christ in Danville, VA. Survivors include his wife, Linda McArthur Prater; sisters, Marie Patterson and Frankie Anthony, both of Patrick Springs and a brother, Phill Prater of Lamsburg, VA.
