Rodger G. Philbrook, 68, of Elkhart, passed away in his home at 5:41 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Plymouth on Dec. 24, 1946, to the late Everett and Beulah (York) Philbrook.
He married Louvenia “LuAnn” Crain on April 2, 1983, in Elkhart, where she passed away in 2001.
Rodger is survived by his children, Bill and David (Amber) Philbrook, Jennifer Zeitler and D. Allan Crain; his sister, Katherine Detore; niece Keri Detore; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Rodger served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, where he specialized in aviation hydraulics. Following his military service, he went to work for Hull Lift Trucks of Elkhart, where he worked for over 40 years and retired in 2012 as the rental manager.
